Oiche Shamhna

The old Celtic celebration of Hallowe'en or Oiche Shamhna is honoured in the Junior and Senior Infant classes where the children come in dressed up in their favourite Hallowe'en outfits on the last day before the mid-term break. Ghosts, goblins, vampires, witches good and bad, pirates and skeletons all appear making our school corridors very treacherous places indeed to wander. Much to the delight of the older children the infants visit all the classes to show of their dressing-up skills.

The image above shows a little red devil caught by two witches and who now must learn his fate....

The slide show on the
right contains more images of this fun day in school and gives you a flavour of Hallowe'en in school...so enjoy!
