Using Computers and Laptops

All of the classes enjoy using the computers in their classroom or the bank of computers and laptops in the school library for research and project work, learning keyboard skills, creative writing, bookmaking and using various educational software in several subject areas. All of the classrooms come with a computer and there is a laptop in the Learning Support room also. The school has an integral network system which connects all the school's computers to printers and other hardware throughout.

The three photos above show 4th and 5th class pupils researching a topic in the library along with a book written by a 5th class pupil

The Interactive Blackboard

We have an interactive blackboard in the General Purpose room which many classes enjoy throughout the year. Software for subjects right across the curriculum can be installed and the large touch sensitive screen gives the whole class a chance to participate in the activity. The pupils look forward to these activities which can range from Maths games to History lessons to a quiz "as Gaeilge".

The images on the browser above show 5th and 6th class pupils enjoying an Irish quiz during "Seachtain na Gaeilge"
