Our School Today

Nestled in Cartown, a little area in the heart of Termonfechin parish, south Co. Louth, S. N. Muire gan Smál is a Catholic co-educational school with 244 pupils in 8 classes from Junior Infants to Sixth Class. The school enjoys a rural setting surrounded by nature and open countryside. At the same time, the school benefits from its proximity to Drogheda and all the facilities the town has to offer.

The photo above shows a front view of the school taken from the teachers' car park. The building in the foreground is now the sixth class room and was the original building of the two teacher school built in 1956

The photo on the
right is an aerial view of the school taken in 2005 as the school was nearing the end of its extension. It illustrates the true size of our school which has clearly grown extensively over the years.
