                                      A Tribute to Mrs Phil Courtney
   
    
   
   We the staff and students of S. N. Muire gan Smál would like to pay a special tribute to our colleague, friend and teacher, Phil Courtney who died on the 29th of March 2013 after a bravely borne illness.
   
    
   
   Phil was an extremely valued member of our staff for twenty years and the numbers who attended her funeral from the school commnity and beyond were a tribute to the high esteem in which she was held and the lovely, lively person she was.
   
    
   
   Moreover, Phil was a truly wonderful teacher with a great love of and talent for music, languages and the arts and was extremely proud of her native Kerry.  She was a kind and caring person who will be sorely missed by the whole school community and fondly remembered.
