Stay tuned for lots of photos of how we keep active!
19th April 2023
Dear Parents,
As part of working towards our second Active Flag, we are planning to have Active Week in our school starting Monday 24th to 28th April.
The Active School Flag is a Department of Education initiative and it provides schools with a framework to guide, support and incentivise them to work towards achieving a physically educated and physically active school community.
Once rewarded, Active School Flag remains valid for 3 years.
So next week we aim to be as active as possible in all areas of our daily school life.
We ask the children to wear their tracksuits and runners for the week.
Written homework will be replaced with active homework for the week.
Each morning we will gather as a whole school outside and start the day with the help of our wonderful Active School Committee with morning wake up and shake up exercises.
Each class will participate in fun active daily activities throughout the day and will be as active as possible.
On Thursday by webinar we will meet two of Ireland’s top athletes , Olympic medalist boxer Aidan Walsh and World Champion Gymnast Rhys Mc Clenaghan. The two super star athletes will be in studio to tell their inspiring stories and answer students questions.
We look forward to an enjoyable, active, inclusive week for all the children in our school.
Regards,
Mr. Reilly.
